Liposuction
Liposuction or liposculpture is the most performed surgery in the world. About thirty thousand liposculpture procedures are made per year in Brazil.
The procedure consists of the withdrawal of 3% to 7% of the body weight depending on the height, weight and the patient’s clinical conditions. The removed fat can be inserted in areas which lack of fat making possible a harmonic body contour.
The procedure can be performed under epidural, local or general anesthesia depending on the extent of the performed region. The cuts are carried through in areas of natural folds of the skin, almost unnoticeable.
The return to the physical activities (work-out) takes 15-20 days after the procedure. Cardio respiratory activities prevent the accumulation of fat in the performed areas and do not draw out the effect of the surgery. The return to work and daily activities are about four to the seven days, depending on the extent of the liposuction.
Facial Procedures
Facelifts are considered procedures that improve and restore the face contour and even eliminate, in some cases, wrinkles and flatness.
The surgery might include: the eyelids, the neck, the brow, and the cheeks.
The skin is pulled during the surgery to allow the withdrawal of excess skin. The scars are located in the hair tissue. The procedure lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours. The procedure is done under local anesthesia with medication. The recovery requires 2 to 3 weeks before returning to your usual activities and 30 days, approximately, for physical exercises. The swelling and bruising takes around 3 weeks to disappear completely.
Eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Eyelid surgery repairs the excess of skin in this region as well as the bumps formed by fat storage. It can be carried out in several ways, with the withdrawal of the skin or the withdrawal of the fat storage. The technique might be performed with cold bistouries, laser Co2, electric bistouries, or transconjunctival approach. The scars are almost imperceptible. It lasts about 1 to 2 hours, with local anesthesia and medication. Swelling and bruising are normal from the first day until the end of the recovery, which lasts around 4 to 8 days.
Ear Surgery
The main goal is to reduce the angle between the skull and auricular pavilion and to diminish the hypertrophy of the ear shell. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia is local with medication. The scar is small and hidden behind the ears.
Gynecomasty
This surgery is recommended for men with mammary excess of fat and tissue on the chest region. It is done through liposuction and direct surgery, through a small incision in the nipple, with minimal scarring. It lasts about 1-2 hours. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with medication. Normal physical activity is allowed after the 2-3 weeks.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
The conventional plastic surgery of the abdominal area is recommended for cases that liposuction will not produce satisfactory aesthetic results or when there is excess skin after weight loss. The procedure is a combination of liposuction and the removal of the excess skin. The resulting scar is long, drawn out between the hip bones and just above the pubic area. The procedure lasts an average of 4 to 5 hours, with epidural or general anesthesia, depending on each case. It is necessary to stay in the hospital for one to three days after the procedure depending on each case. The recovery lasts about 10-12 days, before normal activities are resumed. The use of a post-surgical garment is recommended for 1 month after surgery and you will need approximately 45 days before returning to physical exercises.
Mammoplasty
Breast augmentation – Breast implant
Mastopexy – Breast lift
Breast Reduction
These procedures are recommended for women who desire to enhance, to lift or to reduce the breasts.
The reduction of the breasts includes mammary tissue withdrawal, and also removal of the excess skin. For a breast lift only the skin excess is removed. In the two cases, the resulting scar has the shape of an inverted T.
The method for inserting and positioning your implant will depend on your anatomy and your surgeon's recommendation. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola, or in the armpit. Every effort will be made to assure that the incision is placed so the resulting scars will be as inconspicuous as possible. The surgeon will lift your breast tissue and skin to create a pocket, either directly behind the breast tissue or underneath your chest wall muscle (the pectoral muscle) depending on the muscular anatomy and the necessary aesthetic function. The implants are then centered beneath your nipples.
The procedure is performed under epidural anesthesia. It lasts in average of 2 to 4 hours depending on the type of surgery. Regular activities are allowed within 10-15 days, with 30 to 60 days for physical exercises.
