Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Brazil over other countries for cosmetic surgery?

Brazil has the well deserved reputation of being the cosmetic surgery capital of the world, offering the highest quality cosmetic surgery. It is known for being on the cutting edge of cosmetic surgery techniques, with more cosmetic procedures done here than anywhere else outside of the United States.

Are your surgeons and medical facilities qualified?

All of our surgeons are board certified in Brazil and/or the United States. They are all members of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. All of the medical facilities have been fully accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. Once you have submitted your evaluation form you will receive a profile of your surgeon and the name of the hospital where your procedures will be performed. You can also request before and after photos of your selected surgeon to see an example of the potential results.

How do I get around?

When you arrive at the airport you will be met by a representative and driven to your hotel. You will also be provided transportation to all of your consultations and procedures, as well as driven back to the airport for your departure.

What if I don’t speak Portuguese?

Don’t worry. During your consultations and surgical procedure you will be accompanied by a bilingual Brazileza representative. We also have representatives available if you would like a private guide for day tours or shopping assistance.

How come there are no prices located on the site?

Brazileza International is not a discount surgery site only concerned with offering the lowest prices. We choose to focus on the quality of our surgeons and results and believe each patient is an individual that deserves individualized attention and pricing.  Our surgeons will create an evaluation based on your information and photos, with pricing tailored to your specific surgical needs.

What if at the consultation the surgeon determines I am not a candidate for surgery?

We recommend having your pre-surgical exams done by your local surgeon to determine if you are a candidate for cosmetic surgery before you make the trip. If you want to have your exams done in Brazil, our surgeon will do his best to determine if you are a candidate from the information you provide in your consultation form. If after your exams in Brazil the surgeon decides you are not able to go ahead with the procedure, we will refund your money minus the fee for services already rendered.

What if I need to cancel my trip after I’ve already made my deposit?

We will be glad to help you reschedule, but if you need to cancel the procedure, we will refund your deposit minus any bank fees.

What if there are complications?

The surgeon will determine the minimum time necessary for a safe recovery before you are allowed to return home. If there are complications before this time the surgeon will attend to you immediately. If there are complications once you have returned home please contact us and the surgeon will give his recommendation as to what steps you should take. In an emergency, see your local physician as soon as possible.

What are the risks?

Every surgery has risks. We only use highly skilled surgeons and first rate medical facilities to minimize these risks. It is important to review the profile of your surgeon and ask as many questions as possible before the procedure to make sure you are completely comfortable with having the surgery.

US law does not protect US citizens who have medical procedures done abroad.

I’ve heard Rio de Janeiro is dangerous. Is this true?

Like every major US city, Rio de Janeiro does have crime. It is recommended not to wear flashy jewelry or dress is a way that draws attention. Most of all, it is important to use common sense.  When traveling to your consultations or surgical procedure you will always be accompanied by one of our representatives. If there is a problem, you will have our 24 hour number and the number of the US Consulate.

Do I need a tourist visa to enter the country?

Yes you do. Brazil requires a passport and tourist visa to enter the country. The cost of a visa is approximately US$100 and takes about 5 business days to process.

You can apply for a visa up to 90 days before your date of travel as long as you have already purchase your airline ticket for travel. If you do not have a visa you will not be allowed into the country. To find out where your nearest Brazilian Consulate is located, please look at the list below.
